As a long-time fan of The Bachelorette (and previous recaper), I’ve taken it upon myself to recap Tayshia Adam's season. So here it is: my Rose Recap of Season 16 Episode 12: Fantasy Suites.

Before we get this one started, I feel like I need to make sure that we’re all aware that this week is fantasy suites. So if you don’t want to read my takes on the overnight dates, I understand, thanks for coming, I'll be back here tomorrow. That being said, in the past, even when I've dissuaded my family from reading, this week on my blog gets three times the viewership. So. Welcome new readers!

Ivan, our love is timeless.

On this date, Tayshia and Ivan are trying to break the record for "The World’s Longest, Coldest Kiss," where they have to get into an ice bath and kiss for 5 minutes. This is my personal nightmare and definitely a repeat of a Carly and Evan date. Ivan and Tayshia both seemed to enjoy it enough that they decided to go for 6 minutes instead of just sticking it out until the 5-minute mark.

I’ve never really thought that Tayshia and Ivan had the strongest connection but at the dinner portion of the date, Ivan says that he’s falling in love with Tayshia and she says that she’s falling for him too so they forgo their individual rooms and instead spend the night in an airstream. And from then on it’s none of my business what goes on with them.

Zac, let’s explore each other.

In the second Carly and Evan rip off of the episode, Zac and Tayshia cover themselves with paint and use their bodies to paint a canvas. After they were done rolling around in the paint Zac and Tayshia start imagining what their relationship would look like after the show. Sharing my daydreams with someone seems like the pinnacle of romance to me.

Over dinner, Zac tells Tayshia that he loves her and she says it back, which is a step up from like two weeks ago when they were just falling in love with each other. Once again, they forgo their individual rooms. And again, once they make it to their suite for the night, it is none of my business.

Brendan, let’s see what the future holds.

Tayshia takes Brendan to meet Neil Lane and look at engagement rings. Neil Lane has provided every engagement ring on the show for at least the past five years and probably long before then, but this is the first time I've seen a couple go ring shopping with him. Brendan gets a little bit of a bad edit for being nervous, but I'm pretty sure if any of the guys had to go on this date, they'd be shaking in their boots.

Over dinner, Brendan talks about how he was ready for an engagement when he signed up for the show, but he realized that he isn't as healed from his divorce as he thought and he opts to send himself home. Tayshia says that she thought it was always going to be Brendan at the end, which is news to me and maybe a wakeup call that the rigidity of the show needing to end in an engagement should be revisited, because as much as I like seeing an engagement each season, I'd rather see relationships from the show last.

Rachel Lindsay shows up to La Quinta to make a surprise appearance and I wish she had gotten there earlier in the season so she could have hosted a date, just so I could have more Rachel Lindsay screen time. Tayshia mentions all of her top four guys to Rachel, including Ben, who soon becomes our next surprise guest of the episode, who comes to apologize for how his breakup with Tayshia went down and confirms that he is in love with Tayshia.

Instead of getting a rose ceremony or even just some answers, we get a preview of tomorrow's episode. So tune in to ABC or tune back in to my blog to get the scoop.

xoxo,

Cyber Claire
