This episode kicks off with a mini two-on-one with MJ and Jessenia. Clearly, MJ's not the girl to root for, but she is such a character and had me laughing out loud. Matt decides to send MJ home and by default he keeps Jessenia.

After the two-on-one, Matt cancels the cocktail party and the episode jumps straight into the Rose Ceremony.
Kit, Raechel, Jessenia, and Abigail already have roses.
The remaining roses go to:
Serena P.
Michelle
Pieper
Brie
Chelsea
Katie
Serena C.
We say our goodbyes to:
Brittany
Ryan
Magi
Pieper gets the first one-on-one of the week. Matt drives Pieper into the woods of the hotel property where the crew has set up a carnival, which seems fun enough, but seeing just two people on rides meant for dozens felt offputting. Despite the bad-ish vibes of this date, I'm getting only good vibes from Pieper. Of all the girls we’ve gotten to know, Pieper is the funniest, and that counts a lot for me.

During the dinner portion, she reveals that she needs words of affirmation and that's not always something she receives. So really what I'm saying is that I am also hilarious and love words of affirmation so Pieper, slide into my dms so we can be friends. At the end of the date, Pieper says that she’s falling in love with Matt. The night ends in perfect Bachelor fashion-with a private concert with some d-list country concert; I finally feel at home this season.

The girls show up to see Matt wearing yet another questionable shirt, but this time it's okay because it's a bowling date and Matt's shirt is a bowling shirt. This date was recycled from Arie's season, down to the winning team being promised extra time but the Bachelor invites the losing team anyways. I'm not sure I followed Matt's reasoning here because Michelle was already on the winning team and Michelle is who gets the group date rose.

Tyler Cameron shows up in Pennsylvania and after a chat with Matt, Tyler goes to get a massage. What he doesn't know is that his massage is Katie's one-on-one. She and Matt are in an earpiece telling the masseuse what shenanigans to prank Tyler with. But really the only person being pranked is Katie because her one-on-one is just hanging out with two best friends; not fun, and definitely not a good date.

Katie has really grown on me this season, maybe because she seems like she actually listens to what her therapists says and puts in the work to better herself. Matt is not into a self-actualized woman and sends Katie home. I agree that they only have friend chemistry, but the house desperately needed Katie to keep the girls in check.
Before we can even get to this week's rose ceremony, Heather from Colton's season shows up and asks to be on this season. I know Nick Vial did this with Kaitlyn and I know Becca Tilley was on Ben's season, but something about Heather's appearance gave me bad vibes. But truly, anyone who complains about quarantining gives me bad vibes, so there's that.

Tune in next week to see how many of the girls neither know nor care who Heather is (and let's see if I can recap this season two weeks in a row).
xoxo,
Cyber Claire
