As long-time fan of The Bachelor (and previous recaper), I’ve taken it upon myself to recap Peter Weber’s season. So here it is: my Rose Recap of Season 24 Episode 8: Hometowns.
Mercury is in retrograde right now and if I'm right about the timing of hometowns, Mercury was in retrograde at that point as well.
The week starts of in Knoxville, Tennessee, Hannah Ann's hometown.
Immediately, Hannah Ann pulls two power moves by 1. Taking Peter axe throwing even though she is much better and 2. wearing boot cut jeans. During the date, Peter pulls out a list of all the things he loves about Hannah Ann and I'm trying to see how Peter though his love language was anything other than words of affirmation.

This episode is super rushed and by the time we make it to Hannah Ann's house, we don't even get to be introduced to her family. This is literally the first time that I’ve seen any chemistry with each other and it makes me actually like Hannah Ann. Of course Hannah Ann’s dad is mad that she’s on the Bachelor, and he tells peter not to say that he’s falling in love with Hannah Ann, but Peter does it anyway. Folks. Is Peter the villain of his own season?
Peter jet sets off to Iowa to see Kelsey and they make their own wine by stomping grapes and Peter makes sure to dance in the grapes so that he can secure his spot on Dancing with the Stars. They taste their own wine and like, ok I’m not a wine girl but how do you sanitize the grapes after you stomped on them with your bare feet?

Even though Kelsey hyped up the drama surrounding her family, they seem mostly normal. And that's my one takeaway from this date.
Peter goes to Auburn, Alabama to see Madison and I've been cynical this whole season but I smiled this whole date; they walk around campus, do some basketball drills, and of course kissing; it really seems like they like spending time with each other. Plus Madison absolutely destroys Peter during their basketball game.

Madison's family is super christian and you can tell that they are because they pray before dinner and don't drink wine. Which is identical to my family. But you can tell that they're more intense than my family on the conservative meter because of how. much. they hint at Madison's virginity. But our girl decides that she doesn't need to have that conversation with Peter just yet and lets him leave.
With 45 minutes left in the episode we go to the final hometown: Victoria in Virginia Beach.
Pretty typical for a date with Victoria, an ex shows up. But this time it's one of Peter's and she's there to warn him about Victoria but even though her face was blurred out, she was still vague and didn't exactly express the degree of homewrecker that Victoria actually is.
When Peter addresses these rumors with Victoria, she pulls her favorite move of running away. She comes back and Peter tells her that it isn’t cool and they get into one of her signature fights but Peter decides that this is the last straw and leaves. But, no fear, she comes back in time for the rose ceremony.
The rose ceremony takes place in what I can only assume is the same place as Jojo's hometown rose ceremony.
Peter gives roses to:
Hannah Ann
Madison
Victoria
We say our goodbyes to:
Kelsey, our champagne queen

Next week is fantasy suites and Madison has yet to tell Peter that she's saving herself for marriage and from the preview, she's going to become more like Luke P. than we were all hoping. So come back next week and bring a friend so we can unpack all of that together.
Xoxo,
Cyber Claire
