It's a G'Day for a Fantasy Suite

As long-time fan of The Bachelor (and previous recaper), I’ve taken it upon myself to recap Peter Weber’s season. So here it is: my Rose Recap of Season 24 Episode 9: Fantasy Suites.

Five seasons into The Bachelor for me and in the past I have been pretty intentional in the past about not talking about this episode with my family, but folks! not this time. Thank goodness for a relatively tame fantasy suite. But maybe next season we'll stop sensationalizing virginity. Just a thought.

The episode starts of where last week's "To be continued..." left us; Madison asking to speak to Peter. Instead of letting him know that she's saving herself for marriage, she just tells him that she doesn't know if she'd be able to continue if Peter was intimate with the other women. He reminds her that he loves her but Peter doesn’t end the show right then and there so he doesn't love her that much.

As soon as Madison and Peter finish their conversation, they're off to Australia. Because the devil works hard but Bachelor producers work harder, all of the girls stay in the same hotel, instead of being separated like they normally would have been.

Peter comes to the girls' room to pick up Hannah Ann for the first date. They go jet skiing and Peter wears the swim trunks we’ve seen like four other times this season. He says that he's falling in love and they go to the fantasy suite and it seems like I'm omitting a lot from their date but really there was nothing of substance.

Victoria gets the next date and they take a helicopter ride and end up at a waterfall.Victoria opens up to Peter about past relationships and why she's so defensive in their relationship, and I completely forgot that she's deeply problematic outside of the show and I felt genuinely sorry for her and for a few seconds even thought that she deserved a redemption story line.

Peter is ecstatic that they had a conversation and that their date didn't include a fight so of course he takes her to the fantasy suite. Or he could just be a fan of the Hot to Crazy Ratio. No matter what, she still gets an edit like she might be Peter's final choice.

The final date goes to Madison and I cannot tell you a single thing about this date because I was too busy trying to formulate an opinion on her. Before I can actually articulate how I'm feeling, Madison tells Peter that she's saving herself for marriage and I actually was a big fan of how she talked about this decision and how it was the right choice for her but she didn't expect other that Peter to make the same decision.

I think it's not productive to compare Madison to Luke P. because Luke was one red flag after another and it culminated with him weaponizing his religion and Hannah's sexuality; he was upset with Hannah for having sex because he felt like that didn't meet his expectation for what a christian woman would be like. Madison on the other hand, has been a fan favorite this whole season and asked Peter not to be intimate to protect her heart. While I don't really how Madison waited until the last possible second to ask Peter "Four Times in a Windmill" Weber to forgo the fantasy suites, I think her heart was in the right place.

Madison asks Peter if he's been intimate with the other women and he says that he doesn't want to share that information and Madison ends up leaving. And I know I said that Victoria is getting a winner's edit, but this breakup gave me major Cassie/Colton vibes. I guess we'll find out soon enough.

Blog wise, next week is Women Tell All, so no recap but I'm still ready to discuss all the gossip with you!

xoxo,

Cyber Claire
